Procrastination
Productivity
We often use procrastination as a tool to figure out a problem that is causing us emotional stress. We need to normalize procrastination as part of the creative process. Even though it might feel counterproductive, it often leads to a better result. Research shows that people don’t procrastinate for the reasons they think they do. It is often portrayed as a problem with laziness and not wanting to work hard, but it is not the hard work you are avoiding but negative emotions. You are avoiding a set of tasks that make you feel confused, frustrated, bored, or anxious. A lot of procrastination is driven by fear: "I am not sure I can do this."
